Woorden van mensen die met Paul du Buf hebben gewerkt: in sessies, in de praktijk, en in drie decennia verslavingszorg. De citaten staan in hun oorspronkelijke taal (Engels).
“Paul's open and non-judgemental attitude helps opening up a space in which I dare to name what is going on. It is such a liberating experience to name what can be perceived as un-nameable and have someone take you seriously.
When faced with what I experienced as stuckness in something insurmountable and overwhelming Paul could help by suggesting a new way to relate to that experience. …
I also feel empowered to face more and to trust that there is a way forward even if I can not see it in the moment. It is good to know that there is a trustworthy practice and trustworthy practitioners to help if / when needed with facing ourselves. I highly recommend turning to Paul for a session.”

“I am a somatic based trauma therapist and co-developer of embodied processing, I know and have worked with many trauma therapists worldwide. The space Paul holds cannot be taught, it is a natural gift, it creates a container that allows the body to organically unfold stored trauma imprints. He holds a space of non judgment, of compassion and of safety. In session this allows the nervous system to naturally begin to move back to a regulated state.
I have worked with many people globally as a client and as a practitioner and Paul has been my go to for some time now, I highly recommend him.”

“Hi Paul, I'd just like to say from myself and on behalf of the clinical dept, thank you so much for your hard work and support during your time with us in Recovery Steps Cumbria, we would've been lost without you. Hopefully we will get to see you again very soon.”

“Working in addictions is challenging and can be motivating to continually refresh your knowledge of exciting new developments. Paul actively investigates complementary areas of research while applying them in a therapeutic blend for addiction behaviour recovery and relief. As an addiction professional, Paul's primary goal is to provide support and guidance to clients on their journey towards a sense of balanced health.
I have known Paul for many years, particularly in his UK practice, and am touched by the voluntarily provided responses from clients he has helped in managing their lives' obstacles to gain a stronger sense of self. I am excited about his new book as it will open and clarify a new way of approaching addiction therapy.”

“This letter is to express my support and recommendation for Paul du Buf for a teaching position. Paul has been involved in organizing and delivering teaching as part of our MSc module teaching mental health skills to non-mental health professionals. I have coordinated 5 runs of this module during 2014–2016 and had the opportunity to collaborate with him on organizing the teaching day focused on substance misuse problems. In his role, he was very effective in preparing presentation materials and organizing his co-facilitators including former service users. He was also able to combine the effective approach with a very pleasant personal interaction with students and other teachers resulting in a very friendly and nurturing atmosphere on his teaching day. This positive atmosphere was repeatedly pointed out in students' feedback and his teaching day remained one of the highest rated. In addition to the organizational skills, he was able to adjust the content and format of his teaching to the experience and knowledge of his students further contributing to the effective and friendly transfer of knowledge and skills to a varied student population attending our course.

His involvement with the course included marking of written assignments required for completion of our course and his marking was always constructive providing a detailed explanation of score awarded as well as individualized advice on further progress of our students. His scores were in close alignment with other markers further contributing to the high reliability of our double marking system. He was always able to deliver materials for the course and his marking results in a timely manner which had positive effect on the rating of our course but also the whole faculty. I am convinced that with his professional and friendly approach, Paul can cover a wide variety of teaching contexts and will be a valuable member of any teaching team.”
Projectfeedback
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, 2013 tot 2015.
“It's been a bleak and dangerous journey, in and out of A&E, several admissions into hospital, intensive care, hypothermia, lost days, blackouts and broken bones.
I feel it's a miracle I've survived. Throughout I've felt very supported by SLaM (Paul's team) and also by my friends who are also my carers.”

“The ARFA project to me is about people who don't give up on people. There are so many people out there wanting to get sober but struggling to find help. Paul and the ARFA project helped me and I am sure it's helping people now and will continue to do so in the future.”

“The project has been an outstanding success and the team deserve many congratulations for their innovation and for being a great example of the benefits that come from close work between clinical staff, volunteers, carers, third sector colleagues and researchers.”
