For organisations · Netherlands and United Kingdom

Most care is built around fixing a problem. Attentional training starts earlier, with the capacity to notice what is here, in clients and in the people who support them.

ERA-Institute brings attentional training into addiction, health and social care organisations in the Netherlands and the UK. We train the attention that helps staff and clients meet a craving, a hard shift or a difficult moment, and stay steady in it.

Beyond behaviour

Behaviour is where a problem becomes visible. It is not where it begins.

Much of care focuses on behaviour: what someone uses, how often, whether the plan is kept. That focus has its place, and on its own it can be too narrow. Before a behaviour there is a moment of attention ... a pull, a state in the body, a story about who we are. The same holds for staff under pressure.

Attentional training works in that moment, so that change in behaviour has something steadier to grow from.
