ERA's mission is to support individuals and organisations be trauma-integrated, especially in the area's of addiction.

Paul du Buf
Registered Nurse / Independent Nurse Prescriber / Global Nurse Consultant / Founder ERA-Institute / Author

Paul is a registered nurse who completed his graduation in 1994. He has worked in addiction services for several years in areas such as prevention, treatment, aftercare, dual diagnosis, project management, training, and innovation in the Netherlands and the UK. During his work, Paul realized that he lacked the essential skills to address the symptoms of trauma that his clients shared.

To better understand his clients and become more effective in his work, he became a somatic practitioner and trauma-informed coach.

By becoming trauma-informed, Paul was able to educate his clients about the relationship between trauma and addiction and support them find integrative ways to deal with symptoms and the legacy of trauma. His goal is to support and transform addiction organizations to become trauma-informed and trauma-integrated. He believes this approach promotes healing, improves treatment effectiveness, reduces stigma, and supports staff satisfaction and retention.

He is the author of "Shadow Dancing - Embodied Recovery from Trauma and Addictions" published in 2023. That same year, Paul received certification as a Global Nurse Consultant from the International Council of Nurses and was an expert reviewer for the Universal Nurses Addiction Curriculum and co-creator of trauma informed e-learning.

Dr. Therese L. Andre
Clinical Psychologist / Researcher / Consultant / Director ERA-Institute

Therese is a clinical psychologist having worked in the United States, Canada and the UK. She has worked in clinical/forensic/community/private practice/military hospital/LGBT settings for several years. Prior to returning to grad school to achieve her doctoral degree, Therese worked as a clinical social worker which brings a holistic approach to the community when working with corporate clients. Throughout her work environments, her focus was primarily on rehabilitation, trauma assessment and treatment, transplant assessment/advisory, relational skills, stress management and anxiety work.

Her interest in trauma-informed care developed into a long-term working relationship with Paul and together was further inspired to build an online program and service resource.. Her goal is to support and transform addiction organizations to become trauma-informed and trauma-integrated online with accessible products and consultation for programs, training and education.

Together, we work globally to reach individuals, groups, communities and health institutions.
